My art quilts and paintings are expressions of nature and the creative process of my work transforms into colorful images of flowers, fruits and plants. I begin each artwork with a piece of silk and prepare the cloth using a variety of surface design technique with silk dyes, stenciling, wax resist and shibori. Quilting threads stitched into silk creates texture and depth in some of my art work. As a previous owner of a floral design shop, my colors emerge from the color palette of flowers. Previous intense instruction of textile arts, floral design, quilting ,pottery and drawing influences my work.
